Held even herE

Held Even Here is a faith-based event for those actively navigating self-injury, and for those who love and support them. Rooted in Christian faith and shaped by lived experience, this gathering approaches self-injury with honesty, care, and hope.

Held Even Here brings together individuals who are struggling, family members and friends who are supporting them, and pastors, counselors, educators, and community leaders who are often called to respond. Through shared stories, thoughtful teaching, and guided conversation, Held Even Here aims to deepen understanding, reduce isolation, and foster more compassionate, informed responses to self-injury.

Held Even Here offers programming that can be shaped to fit different audiences, settings, and time frames, while staying grounded in the same commitment to compassion, clarity, and care.

Who we are

Hosted by Stacee Goetzinger and Brittany Tinsley, Held Even Here was born out of the realization that too many people — those who struggle, those who love them, and those in communities who care for them — feel alone and under-equipped in the face of self-injury. Widely misunderstood and highly stigmatized, self-harm is often met with fear, silence, or oversimplified answers that leave those struggling feeling more isolated than before.

Stacee and Brittany come to this work not as clinicians, but as people who have lived inside these stories. Both have known what it is to cope through self-injury, and what it takes to slowly, imperfectly learn another way. Brittany and Stacee speak from lived experience, a shared faith in Christ, and a commitment to creating spaces where honesty is met with gentleness rather than judgment, and invite others into their stories with hard-earned tenderness and hope.
